🌱 A poem and a podcast
New years poem. I went on a podcast for 2 hours.
Here’s your 3 insights in 3 minutes.
📝 A Poem
I wrote this poem the other day on New Years.
I didn’t think I’d post it, but here were are.
As a kid I used to write a lot of poems and rhymes. So starting to tap more into that.

So much reflection this time of year.
Where did we grow? Where did we veer?
The inner critic is vocal, as we look in the mirror.
We say, “Next year’s different.” This is the year.
Performance reviews. KPIs. Goals on a sheet.
Asking big questions, through a small Zoom or Meet.
Because who we become is shaped in many small ways.
By what we repeat. Our hours stacked into days.
Are we living on autopilot, just pretending to care?
Or feeling fully alive, a trait today that seems rare.
If we slowed down a notch, what might we feel?
Tucked somewhere quiet is a kid who keeps it real.
A kid who laughs. A kid who loves to play.
A kid who said “someday” but really meant today.
A kid who trusted himself, without the need for external praise.
Now an adult with taxes, insurance premiums, and IRAs.
So remember that kid as we plan this new year.
The kid who ran on curiosity, and never from fear.
The kid who fully went for what he wanted, and always had a blast.
Because the days go slow, but the years go fast.
🎙️ A Podcast
My friend Taylor invited me on his podcast over the summer.
We ended up jamming for 2 hours.
We talked about tons of things I’ve written and real examples from my life I haven’t shared before.
A few nuggets:
Taking small, high leverage risks (“20 seconds of courage”)
A playful approach to dealing with imposture syndrome
How creative sandboxes (podcast/blog) and small bets compound into big opportunities
I just listened and think there’s great lessons through the whole thing. Obvi I’m biased, but it has me excited to go on more podcasts this year.
