đŸŒ± How to live an “Asymmetric Life” (4 principles)

Rejections. Asymmetric life. Documentary database.

Greetings from Austin,

Here are three ways to learn more about yourself and the world around you.

All in 3 minutes or less.

Insight density.

Let’s go.

❌ Rejection

*pauses for impact*

Dang.

Such a great title, don’t even need to click the link.

I’ll be honest, my life is more geared toward acceptance than rejection.

But there’s one line that stood out on how to reframe. Chris is talking about a job here, but it really applies to most of the big aspects of our lives (investing, work, some relationships, etc.).

“One of the great things about looking for a job is that your ‘payoff’ is almost always a max function (the best of all attempts), not an average.”

Working toward a max function somehow makes rejections seem more logical.

Something our minds can’t comprehend is the power of these max function asymmetric outcomes

📈 Asymmetric Life

Graham Weaver is the founder of the PE firm Alpine Investors.

When I think of Graham I think of one thing
WISDOM.

He gave an unreal talk for the Stanford Last Lecture series called “How to Live an Asymmetric Life.”

It’s 33 minutes of pure brain-expanding insights distilled from his impressive personal and business life. Wild how much free wisdom is on the internet (if you look in the right places).

He distilled the lecture in his blog post here down to the four principles of an asymmetric life.

Finally, I distilled it further for you in the image below. (yes, that’s tripled distilled for those keeping count!)

đŸ“ș Cool Website

I came across this cool site called Rocumentaries. It’s a database of the best documentaries and where to watch them.

Check it out here.
