3 seeds to plant this week 🌱
Hola from Colombia,
I discovered an 83-year-old lady’s blog called When You Get to My Age. It’s amazing. (more below)
Phrase she learned as a little girl, “Our mind is a garden, our thoughts are the seeds. We can grow flowers or we can grow weeds.”
Here are 3 seeds to plant this week. 🌱
🗑️ Garbage Time
Jerry Seinfeld loves “garbage time.”
“I'm a believer in the ordinary and the mundane. These guys that talk about ‘quality time’ -- I always find that a little sad when they say, ‘We have quality time.’
I don't want quality time. I want the garbage time. That's what I like. You see (your kids) in their room reading a comic book and watch that for a minute, or a bowl of Cheerios at 11pm when they're not supposed to be up. The garbage, that's what I love.” - Jerry Seinfeld
This really hits for me. It also applies to other areas of life. For example, open travel plans. Just soaking in the scenes. I tried walking around the other day without listing to a podcast or audiobook (crazy I know).
Our time is finite. Regardless of how we label it (quality or garbage), it’s just time. And soon it will be gone. Savor the teeny bit we have.
🌱 Life is a Garden
Everyone’s garden is different, same as their lives.
Seeds = desired achievements
Need to be planted today, to develop later
Weeds = undesired setbacks
Let the wrong people plant seeds (choking the plants) and our garden is no longer a place of beauty
Garden = work and effort
Care for the soil and reap the rewards

📈 Biz Framework
The "3 P's framework" for the best business ideas
POTENTIAL of idea → How big could it be?
PROBABILITY of outcome → Good chance it works?
PROXIMITY of idea → Near your heart (enjoyment) or brain (expertise)?
Takeaway:
Most overweight probability. Instead, balance all 3.
Here is a quick breakdown of my favorite frameworks from Dharmesh Shah (billionaire founder of Hubspot).

“Your instincts, your human personal intuition — always whispers; it never shouts. So you have to, every day of your life, be ready to hear what whispers in your ear.” — Steven Spielberg
South America has been whispering to me for a few years now. What’s whispering to you?
