Here's my personal finance template

Greetings friends,

Every time I open my laptop, Iā€™m amazed by the amount of information at our fingertips.

But the real SKILL of the internet era isnā€™t opening new tabs.

Itā€™s closing them.

It's the ability to learn quicklyā€”moving from consumption to IMPLEMENTATION.

It's distilling relevant information and tailoring it to our immediate needs.

Consume ā†’ Customize ā†’ Implement

Lucky for youā€¦ Iā€™ve done the first two steps for you!

šŸ¤“ Personal Finance Template

Here's my personal finance template

I used to do my taxes myself, but I just hired an accountant.

Our first Zoom meeting, I screen shared and walked through my template. She said, ā€œoh I use a similar template, except I like how you split up ā€˜Liquidā€™ vs ā€˜Invested capitalā€™. Iā€™m going to add that to mine.ā€

I was surprised (and flattered).

But Iā€™ve just followed the steps.

  • Consumed: courses, blog posts, YouTube videos

  • Customized: based on my preferences & combining all the best examples

  • Implemented: using the simple personal finance tracker

Then after a friend just asked me to send him the template, I stripped it down to the best 3 tabs: Balance Sheet, Net Income, and Crypto.

Hereā€™s the template if you want a copy too.

šŸ’» Tech Tip: Authy

I just switched from Google Authenticator to Authy

This switch might save you HOURS of hassle.

I kept hearing of people getting locked out of their accounts after upgrading/ losing their phone with Google Authenticator installed on it (with no backups).

But with Authy, there are backups.

Perk of working with bunch of smart peepsā€¦ asking questions in the #random slack channel. (turns out many already made the switch)

Here's my personal finance template

Note: if you have no idea what Iā€™m talking about (hi mom), these are safer ways to ā€œauthenticateā€ or log in to websites and apps.

šŸ’¬ Quote of the week

ā€œBecause the essence of creativity is f*cking around; art is that which is done for the hell of it.ā€
