The wrong way to read books

Learn: How to find books, small bets, TikTok creativity

Read: 3 minutes

Greetings from Colombia,

We donā€™t need more ideas.

We need better ways to turn our ideas into actions

Butttt we're too busy to test all our ideas. So what if we focused only on what weā€™re MOST excited about?

Those aha moments where things just click. I call them intellectual epiphanies.

This newsletter helps you unlock your own intellectual epiphanies.

šŸ“š What to Read?

We donā€™t go to the doctor and say, ā€œWhat's up doc? Heard about any good medicines recently?ā€

We obviously start with our problems (ex: sleeplessness), then add the remedy.

Yet for some reason, this is our exact approach to reading books.

Instead, try this problem-centric approach to find your next book.

šŸƒ Small Bets

I did an experiment in September.

I wanted to launch 15 short-form videos and see if any would bang on TikTok and YouTube shorts.

Thought a good outcome would be 10k views on a single video. And a GREAT outcome would be a millie views, because why not?

The wrong way to read books

So released the videos in September.... and none of them got 10k views. :(

But, then released one last week and it got 50k views

Biggest learning isnā€™t about the views or even the videos. The lesson is in constantly firing SMALL bullets. Then doubling down once it's working.

šŸ–¤ Iran into Creativity

Thereā€™s a trend on TikTok where you share #onethingaboutme to the background of a Nicki Minaj song.

Many hilarious videos on there, but one sticks out for another reason.

Tara hopped on the trend to spread awareness about whatā€™s happening in Iran.

While I dislike many things about social media and tiktokā€¦ the creativity I LOVE.

I learned more about Iran in this quick tiktok video than Iā€™d ever known before.

Much Love,

Mitchell
