🌱 Reminder: it gets to be fun

Coffee lines, desirable difficulties, and play time.

Here’s your 3 insights in 2.3 minutes

šŸ“± Have Fun With It

I read about how caffeine worked the other week.

Then posted this photo on linkedin…

Highlighting how the process of making coffee kinda felt more like a daily drug routine.

But mainly…I thought it would be funny to throw some lines of coffee in the photo and see what people on linkedin thought.

Takeaway: it’s not that serious, have some fun!

šŸ˜… ā€œDesirable Difficultiesā€

A cognitive psychologist coined the term ā€œDesirable Difficultyā€ to describe the ideal amount of challenge for learning and growth.

Too little difficulty and we get bored.
Too much difficulty and we shut down.

The sweet spot is finding challenges slightly above our current skill level.

True for most of life.

Not impossible. But also not effortless.

Just hard enough to grow.*

😜 The Importance of Play

Now, if you read that last line* and immediately thought:

ā€œThat’s what she said.ā€

Good. (If not, revisit the first section).

If for no other reason, it will lead you to success.

ā€œPeople rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.ā€

— Dale Carnegie

And you won’t waste any days along the way.

ā€œThe most wasted of days is one without laughter.ā€

— E.E. Cummings
