🌱 The 2nd decision

How to create traction. The real decision. An inch of movement.

Here’s your 3 insights in 3 minutes for traction.

🛻 Load up the truck

I’ve always believed in doing less, but better.

Until I found the exception.

Earlier this year I felt stuck.

Then I heard an analogy I can’t stop thinking about.

A pickup truck spinning its wheels in the mud doesn’t always need more horsepower. Sometimes it just needs more weight in the back so the tires can catch traction.

Same for most things.

When we’re stuck, the answer isn’t always removing things.

Sometimes the answer is adding enough weight to get moving.

Once the truck starts rolling, you can adjust the load. Change direction. Decide what stays and what goes.

But none of that happens while you’re spinning your tires in the mud.

That’s how you blow your load.

Less but better is still the goal. You just might need movement first.

2️⃣ The Second Decision

Most objectives require 2 decisions.

The first happens when you’re planning.

Plan to wake up earlier, write more, get in shape.

The second decision shows up later.

Alarm goes off. The blank page appears.

The first decision creates intention.

The second decision creates results.

Planning matters.

But actually showing up matters more.

Progress comes from the second decision.

📏 An Inch Of Movement

At the end of each day or week, how do you measure up?

“An inch of movement will bring you closer to your goals than a mile of intention.”
