🌱 The ā€œRe-Introā€ post (copy this template)

A simple post format that almost always works

Allow me to re-introduce myself

My name is Hov, oh, H to the O-V. Mitchell.

Here’s your 3 insights in 3 minutes

šŸ‘‹ The ā€œRe-Introā€ Post

Consider these numbers.

LinkedIn now has 1B+ users and is still growing.

Yet less than 1% of users post regularly.

In other words:

Huge demand for content.
Very little supply.

Compared to other platforms, it’s one of the easiest places to grow on the internet AND get in front of a sophisticated audience (business owners, founders, operators, etc.).

So how do you start to take advantage of this attention arbitrage

Every so often on LinkedIn, people post a ā€œre-introductionā€ with a candid photo and it crushes.

The format is simple, and it's almost always a top performing post. People want to learn more about who you are and what you’re about.

I wrote mine this week (see below).

After studying a few different format versions, I framed mine as a timeline of lessons:

Got a bunch of new connections, so allow me to reintroduce myself (Jay-Z voice).

My name is Mitchell Cohen šŸ‘‹

This is my story so far:

In 2019, I became employee #1 for Noah Kagan's personal media company. I helped grow his newsletter, YouTube channel, and later his bestselling book, Million Dollar Weekend.

The biggest thing I learned sitting next to him every day?

Speed.

He moved faster than anyone I’d ever seen. I realized most of my ā€œthinkingā€ was just overcomplicating. So I gave myself a rule:

ā€œNow, not how.ā€

When I caught myself overanalyzing, I’d prioritize doing something right now instead of mapping the entire plan.

Years later, that phrase became Chapter 1 of Noah’s book. Dozens said it was their favorite part. Seeing it in print (with my name in the back) still feels surreal.

In 2021, I started the Influencer Marketing team at AppSumo. Built partnerships with 50+ creators and learned how to spot rising talent and structure true win-wins.

In 2023, I ran the memberships team, AppSumo Plus. I became obsessed with buyer psychology. Time to value. Email nurture. Why people stay. Why they churn.

In 2024, I built and hosted AppSumo’s founder interview series. I sat down with 50+ AI and SaaS founders. It grew to 5M+ views across YouTube and socials and brought in hundreds of new customers.

I got to hear the founder playbooks from some of the fastest growing companies online.

One pattern became obvious: in a world where AI makes content and tools infinite, trust becomes scarce.

For the last four years, I’d been helping founders behind the scenes with their content and positioning. Four months ago, I decided to stop doing that just on the side.

I left my full-time role to go all in on my business Triple Lever. The most obvious hard decision I've made.

Now I help founders grow their own founder-led content systems that compound trust and turn attention into new opportunities. It blends together everything I know and love: psychology, AI, distribution, relationships, frameworks, and clear thinking.

Outside of work, I care deeply about emotional intelligence, physical and mental health, traveling with my gf, IRL events, and building real relationships with interesting people.

I also write a weekly 3-minute newsletter called Making Connections. It’s where I distill what I’m learning about business, human behavior, and building a life that actually feels aligned.

I’ve published every sunday for 4 years. Somehow, that simple habit has led to some of the best conversations and friendships in my life.

If you’re building something meaningful and thinking about how to grow it in a way that feels aligned and sustainable, we’ll probably get along.

Glad to be connected. šŸ¤

šŸ“ The Template

This newsletter is really about two things:

  1. Understanding human behavior

  2. Implementation > theory

When putting my post together I studied a few real examples from friends.

To make it easier for you to create your own, I combined some of my favorite formats so you can post your own re-intro post.

Grab the google doc here.

It also has hooks to use if you haven’t been active on Linkedin.

šŸ” Zooming Out

A ā€œre-introā€ post isn’t just for social media.

It’s also something you do in real life.

Zooming out looking at where you’ve been.

And deciding you’re going next.

ā€œLife can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.ā€
