🌱 This took me 10 years to learn (and I just published it!)
Default drift. Press publish. Decision.
I just published the most meaningful and important essay maybe I’ve ever written.
Let’s dive in.
🧠Default Drift
“When you’re young, you look like your parents. When you grow up, you look like your decisions.”
This week, I showed my passport photo from 10 years ago to my friend. His jaw literally dropped.
“There’s no way that’s you,” he said, eyes wide with genuine shock.
He wasn’t just seeing different hair or a younger face. He was seeing a different person—someone who was being pulled by life’s currents instead of navigating them intentionally.
It literally took me 10 years to write this essay.

🎬 Press Publish
In March, I set one personal goal: publish one video on my personal youtube channel.
I couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out.
I learned a framework that immediately impacted my life
I connected deeper with someone I was curious about
I DID THE THING that was most aligned for me
I interviewed my friend Akash (Harvard MBA, lawyer, 2x founder, worked at the Fed, former Law Professor, Finance Professor) and is one of the clearest thinkers I know.
I published the two clips last month, but now published the full video on YouTube (and here’s audio on Spotify).
🤔 Final Thought
“You are always one decision away from a totally different life.”
Salud,
Mitchell
