IRL events. Audience quality. Tracking sheet.
Here are your 3 insights in 3 minutes.
š¤ IRL Events
I wrote ādo more workshops/seminars/eventsā in my 2024 recap heading into this year.
A week later, I was invited to this content mastermind and therefore was a whole body yes (aka didnāt think twice).
To be clear, Iām not saying I āmanifestedā this.
I am saying that having a loose vision of what you want creates WAY more clarity of when to say yes or no to things.
A few patterns I noticed (room of mainly business owners/founders):
Everyone is prioritizing video (specifically YouTube)
Everyone wants great people & systems (hard to find great project managers, creative directors, executive assistants, etc.)
Despite being one of the least financially successful people in the room, I was one of the most knowledgeable in both of these areas.
Iāll be honest, I used to think āknowing YouTubeā was not a real business skill. Iāve since changed my mind.
After, I consulted ChatGPT on rising platform trends and organized the output in this table.
The average daily time on YouTube is 49 minutes! Thatās crazy.

ā Quality
Before the next section below (content tracking template), hereās something I remind myself often when it comes to audience growth:
QUALITY over quantity.
Shaan Puri has a great breakdown of how he would build an audience from scratch today.
Lesson #1 was to forget the numbers and focus on WHO follows you, not how many.
I love this idea and example (colored highlights are mine):
While this newsletter's readership is relatively small, the QUALITY of people is unbelievable. (yes, Iām literally talking about you reading this. Much appreciated! š)
š Tracking Sheet
I simplified my tracking system this year.
So I just use a google sheet with two tabs:
Monthly ā What I am currently optimizing
Yearly ā Snapshot of all channels
Kinda crazy my tiny personal channels generated 1.2M impressions last year.
Also, I was surprised how I posted 25% fewer blog posts, however the traffic was more than 2x higher. This is the power of compounding and ranking for more keywords (aka free SEO traffic).
Then on the monthly tab, I just track the LinkedIn posts.
Hereās the template for you to copy for yourself.
Note: to fill in this template yourself, just grab the metrics directly from the social platforms. Except for LinkedIn, which doesnāt let you see analytics by month.
I use and love AuthoredUp for scheduling LinkedIn posts, and their analytics are way better than default LinkedIn analytics.
Salud,
Mitchell
