🌱 Here’s my updated “now” page
Now page. Mental resistance training. Courage.
Here’s your 3 insights in 3 minutes.
📍Now Page
Testing a new section called “Selection Attention.”
I’ve always loved workshops/events/seminars… so seeing where this takes me!
What are you doing now?
đź’Ş (Mental) Resistance Training
Muscles grow when you challenge them.
Same goes for personal growth — but not all resistance builds strength.
Punching a wall is resistance, yet doesn’t lead to any gains.
The paradox:
Our brains are wired to avoid effort (hello, Netflix), yet growth requires friction. So what gives?
The key is distinguishing good vs bad:
Bad resistance keeps you stuck:
Toxic relationships
Perfectionism paralysis
Random self-punishment
Good resistance builds capacity:
Public speaking → communication skills
Hard conversations → relationship depth
Daily creative work or learning → discipline/skills
Seth Godin calls this a dance:
“That is what we do for a living — we dance with the Resistance, we don’t make it go away. You cannot make it go away — you cannot make the voice go away, you cannot make the fear go away, because it’s built in. What you can do is when it shows up, you say “Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. Let’s dance about this.”
I made this quick video recently on IG, but felt the resistance come up and almost didn’t post it. Then I just posted it anyway.
Resistance training isn’t comfortable.
But real growth starts the moment we stop running from the resistance and start dancing with it.
👣 Courage
“The secret to happiness is freedom... And the secret to freedom is courage.”
Tony Robbins says the real secret to happiness is progress.
Whether it’s progress or freedom… courage is first required to overcome the resistance that wants to stay stagnant.
